The Volunteer Tavern

The Volunteer Tavern (known by locals as The Volly) is a hidden gem, tucked away in the streets behind Cabot Circus, just beyond the hustle and bustle of the shops. It’s a warm and welcoming pub that absolutely loves dogs, they even have their own cute pub dog called Treacle who you might spot lying around.

It’s great to know a proper pub, with great beer, real ale, fine wine and homemade locally sourced food is right in the heart of the city. The Volunteer Tavern is quite small, but has a relaxed atmosphere, with friendly staff who are more than happy to suggest the right beer for your taste buds.

The Volunteer Tavern hosts pop-up kitchens throughout the year, ranging from delicious tapas to Mexican dishes with veggie and vegan options.

There is a small patio garden out the back that really makes good use of space with seating and lots of sheltered snug areas.
