Ashton Hill

Ashton Hill, also known as Belmont Hill, lies close to Ashton Court Estate but is far quieter and less well known — perfect if you’re looking for a more peaceful woodland walk. The 148-acre site is made up of mixed woodland, including conifers, broadleaved trees and areas of ancient woodland.

One of the highlights is a magnificent stand of Californian Redwoods, which adds real drama to the landscape. The woods are easy to explore on a circular route, taking around an hour at a relaxed pace. Alternatively, you can cut across the woodland for a shorter walk and visit the ‘Big Tree Grove’, home to towering Giant Sequoias planted in the 19th century.

An easy circular route around Ashton Hill will take approximately an hour.
