Bath Racecourse

Bath Racecourse is such a big place for the dogs to run and play, so perfect for energetic breeds. You cannot walk on the track, just the public footpaths around it.

It’s a very popular walk, with a huge wide open space and Prospect Stile viewpoint, which overlooks Kelston Roundhill and beyond. There are also many public footpaths, so you can explore the area and discover your own wonderful walk!

We would recommend using an OS map on your walk to look at the public footpaths around the racecourse, as from 2023, the Arena Racing Company have taken a stricter position with dog owners and where their dogs can run.

Of course, you can only walk here on non-race days! So check the website before you travel.

It will take you just less than an hour to walk around the racetrack.

Parking

There are different areas to park dotted around the racecourse. These are: on the crest of the hill from Wick to Bath, near Sir Bevil Grenville's Monument, or just off the main road on Langridge Lane, or if you're visiting dog friendly The Charlcombe Inn, you can use their car park.

Paws for thought

Make sure there isn't a race on!
