Old Down Country Park

Old Down Country Park is a fabulous estate to explore with a petting zoo, adventure play area, pond and woodlands. We haven’t explored it all yet as we keep getting distracted by the restaurant!

You do have to pay for entry, but we definitely recommend it for a day out with children and dogs, they also have free parking. Dogs need to remain on a lead at all times as there are various animals, as well a free roaming peacock called Kevin!

Dogs allowed in cafe and barn. Cafe for cake, sandwiches, coffee. The Barn does afternoon tea and Sunday lunch pre-booking required, look out for their delicious steak night on Friday and Saturday. You don’t have to pay for entry if just eating.

For accessibility, there is ground level access throughout the centre of the Estate (but the walks to the lake may not be suitable). There are ramps into the shop and ground level access into the Barn cafe, disabled parking and toilet facilities.

Thanks to @murphyplusquinnpup for this recommendation!
