Painswick Beacon

Painswick Beacon is a beautiful relaxed walk with panoramic views at the summit. We easily spent an hour here, walking a circular route around the outskirts of the golf course, before walking up the steep peak to appreciate the view.

To get to Painswick Beacon, look out for the small signage off the main road B4073, it’s not very obvious! Follow for the signs for either Painswick Beacon or Catbrain Quarry. There’s a small free car park at Painswick Beacon. From here, follow the road to the direction of the quarry where there are large grassy areas and small mounds. There is a golf course here, but whenever we’ve been here, there aren’t many golfers and it doesn’t ever seem to be an issue.

There are small wooded areas to the side of the golf course, but the main attraction here is the summit with glorious views! It’s a beautiful walk on a sunny day where you can see for miles.
